Smart food production

Together with Wageningen University, we developed the ‘Plant empowerment’ programme. The effects of the indoor climate in the greenhouse on the well-being and growth rate of plants are determined based on the physiology of plants. New technologies, such as cheap wireless sensors linked to the data network, determine the microclimate at various locations in the greenhouses. This microclimate is then optimised on a location-specific basis, to ensure plants grow optimally and efficiency is further improved.
