HTM ensures a green Hofstad.

Daimler Buses provides a complete ZE (Zero Emission) system.

HTM, the public transport company of and for the Hague region, is committed to creating a green environment in The Hague. Starting in mid-2024, the electrification of public bus transport in the capital city will begin with the acquisition of 95 solo and articulated Mercedes Benz eCitaro city buses, along with a complete depot setup.

Accelerating the Transition

The transformation towards electrification gains momentum with the order of a minimum of 95 Mercedes-Benz eCitaro buses for the year 2024, which will replace the CNG fleet. Daimler Buses, in collaboration with their subcontractor ABB E-mobility based in Delft, will be responsible for the charging infrastructure and civil engineering at the Hague depot. ABB E-mobility is partnering with renowned company Batenburg Techniek from Rotterdam for this purpose.

100% Sustainability

The Cream of the Crop

The three-door eCitaro and eCitaro G buses are equipped with the latest third-generation NMC battery technology, ensuring efficient operation. The low-floor eBuses are charged in HTM depots via pantograph. Passenger comfort is not compromised, with a welcoming interior featuring a wood-look floor and luxurious upholstered seats in the renewed HTM design. There are designated areas for wheelchair users and passengers with limited mobility and/or strollers. All eCitaros are equipped with Mirror Cameras and safety systems such as Preventive Brake Assist and Side Guard Assist, creating a safe environment for other road users and passengers.

The eCitaro boasts a state-of-the-art climate control system, allowing the driver to regulate the temperature separately from that of the passengers.
